William W. Jennings

William W. Jennings is Professor of Finance and Investments in the Department of Management at the U.S. Air Force Academy.  Dr. Jennings is the principal finance educator—overseeing instruction to over 800 students per year—and senior civilian management professor.  He serves in roles analogous to associate dean in a typical business school.  He led the department’s successful initial AACSB accreditation effort.

Dr. Jennings serves the community via various investment committees supervising over $21 billion in endowment and pension funds at the Falcon Foundation, USAFA Association of Graduates, Air Force Services pension, AAFCU Foundation, The Colorado Trust and Alaska Retirement Management Board.  In these capacities, he has both operational and oversight experience across a range of fiduciary investment management activities in both traditional and alternative investments.

His research interests focus on portfolio management.  Recently, he has undertaken research on alternative investments, equity style, socially responsible investing, health-care investing and international diversification.  He has also done significant research on portfolio management for taxable investors and is co-author of Integrating Investments and the Tax Code, which was published by J.K. Lasser.

Professor Jennings previously worked as a private equity analyst and sports valuation analyst at Arthur Andersen & Co.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant in Michigan.  His doctorate is from the University of Michigan.
